Training Course List - introducing the SHOKK 10:
1. SHOKK Assistant Module
‘Level 1 Award in Assisting Health-Related Activity Sessions (QCF)’
- One of our ‘life-skills’ qualifications at Level 1 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework.
- Two day Award has no pre-requisite and is designed for candidates completing Key Stage 4 (from 14 years of age) and volunteers who are considering a career in the leisure industry.
- Candidates will achieve the knowledge and skills required to assist with planning, preparing and delivering a safe and effective activity session for a group of participants.
- SHOKK’s extensive range of equipment can be incorporated into the assessment for this qualification
2. SHOKK Core Module
‘Level 2 Award in Adapting Fitness Instruction for Adolescents’
- Two day Qualification is designed for certified Level 2 and 3 Gym Instructors who have a sound knowledge of health and fitness.
- Candidates who wish to further their career development will achieve an understanding of the physiological and psychological issues that young people face and how they affect their ability to exercise.
- Candidates will achieve practical guidance on how to plan, structure and coordinate successful youth activity sessions
3. WQT
‘Workshop for Qualified Teachers’
- One day workshop will provide you with enough theoretical background to supervise young people on a gymnasium setting
- Aimed at certified teachers who have a sound knowledge of health and fitness in the Youth and wish to further their career development profile with knowledge around the practical aspects of a gymnasium.
- BAALPE (British Association Advisors and Lecturers in PE) advise that PE Teachers merely need appropriate training to work in a fitness suite.
4. SHOKK BALANCE BOARDS
‘Balance Boarding for Skills, Drills, Tricks and Flips’
- SHOKK X-Treme is a one day training course providing instructors with a fun, dynamic and innovative approach to exercise young people on our SHOKK Balance Boards.
- This unique approach and versatility makes it a product that can be adapted in many ways, from personal programmes to group exercise, and from sports specific training to rehabilitation.
- Using a Balance Board can help build up the core muscles and develop skills like: balance, co-ordination, reaction and agility.
5. SHOKK BREAK-DANCING
‘Spin on your Back, Spin on your Knees, Stand on your Hands, then do a Freeze’
- SHOKK Breaker is a one day training course providing established exercise to music and studio based instructors with the skills to be able to teach young people of all age ranges and abilities the art of Break-dancing.
- This fun, energetic, modern-day course is a must for anyone wanting to further their offering within a studio/dance providing candidates with the foundations of Break-dancing in order to start creating unique and innovative youth sessions within your facility.
6. SHOKK GAMES GALORE
- Games Galsore is a one day training course providing n ideas on how to provide fun and effective physical activity sessions for young people aged from 5 to 11 years
- Candidates will learn practical ideas to produce a multi-disciplined children’s activity programme and the tools to form to plan, develop and implement exciting ways for young people to become more active through play, and group/social interaction.
- This is a true energetic and inspirational day for all who attend, and is a must for anyone who wishes to work with this younger age group.
7. SHOKK Kombat
‘Kick, Strike and Block your way to the Top’
- SHOKK Kombat is a one day training course providing candidates the chance to develop and implement fun and effective SHOKK Kombat and Box sessions for young people aged from 8 to 16 years.
- This freestyle Kombat workout incorporates disciplines from Boxing, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Kung Fu, Taekwondo and Karate.
- The course produces a library of games, drills, challenges, sessions, pre-planned music and progression ideas to kick your Youth classes to the next leve
8. Cheerleading
‘Fitness that Dances, Shakes, Cheers and Chants’
- SHOKK Cheerleading is a one day training course aimed to create your own cheers, chants choreography style and classes.
- Combining the classic cheerleading moves and disciplines with the freedom of dance; this course opens your eyes to the exciting fusion between the two disciplines.
- SHOKK Cheer combines many different styles including street, bollywood, and jazz with cheerleading arm movements, jumps and formations.
9. SHOKK Skills System (SSS)
'The Fast Paced Action and Reaction Course'
- Sport specific one day training course designed with the young developmental athlete in mind
- From SSS our next generation of sport enthusiasts and amateur athletes will experience all the FUNdamentals of professional and functional training
- From actions to reaction drills to body balance and core strength, this course is a must for taking our amateur athletes to the elite level
10. Nutrition
‘A Practical Wedge to achieve that Nutritional Edge’
- SHOKK Nutrition is a one day training course providing candidates with new ideas on how to develop and implement fun sessions tailored around nutrition.
- Our Nutrition course outlines ways to help combat youth obesity through the use of interactive games making exercise the subliminal message through play.
